SmartLib was developed as a Final Year Project at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). It combines web development, UI/UX design, and database engineering to create a meaningful reading experience for everyone.
Yes! SmartLib is 100% free to use. There are no subscriptions, no hidden fees, and no paywalls. Every reader deserves access to great stories.
SmartLib supports EPUB, PDF, and MOBI formats. Availability depends on the source. Most books on Open Library are available as EPUB or PDF.
You can browse and discover books without an account. However, signing up lets you save books to your shelf, track your reading history, and get personalised recommendations.
The Focus Timer uses the Pomodoro technique, 25-minute focused reading sessions followed by a 5-minute break. It helps you build consistent reading habits without burnout.
For books hosted on Open Library, you will be redirected to their site to read or borrow the title. Some are freely readable as public domain works; others may require a free Open Library account.
Contact us at smartlib@unimas.my with your registered email and we will process your account deletion request within 5 business days.
Click on any book to open its details, then click Save to Shelf. You will need to be logged in. Saved books appear in My Library and on your homepage.
SmartLib depends on what is available in open-access repositories. Try the Discover page and filter by genre, or contact us with a book request.
